About The Visionary

Jack & Maratwa Tsoai

In the mid-1980s through the late 1990s, Jack served the Lord in different denominations (Full Gospel Church and Apostolic Faith Mission-AFM) to be specific. In 1997, Jack and Maratwa Tsoai joined Mannie and Dawn Pereira at Ebenezer Christian Fellowship in Midrand, Johannesburg, where they dedicated themselves to serve that local church on the pastoral staff. During this transformative period, they sensed a divine calling to establish a church in Honeydew, specifically within the Zandspruit Informal Settlement, as part of their commitment to full-time ministry. After several years as a high school educator, Jack made the pivotal decision to leave his teaching career and went to pursue theological studies at Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg. On November 14, 1999, Jack and his wife planted Ebenezer Christian Church in Honeydew, which would later be renamed “Cosmo City Church.” From these modest beginnings, it became evident that Jack was destined to serve not only his local church community but also to impact the broader city, country, and even nations around the world. Jack would later continue to expand his academic credentials in education, law, leadership, and theology, ultimately achieving a Doctorate in Theology.

After an incredible time and privilege of leading Cosmo City Church for 14 years, Jack and Maratwa Tsoai handed over the leadership of the church to Thabiso and Didi Motsepe on the 9th of March 2013 to pursue a more trans-local ministry according to Acts 13:1-3 v1. “Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. v2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” v3. So, after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off”.

On June 8, 2013, Jack embarked on a transformative journey by establishing a translocal partnership of churches aimed at training church leaders, planting new congregations, and empowering the priesthood of all believers on a global scale. Throughout the Bible, instances of divinely inspired transitions are consistently accompanied by growth, expansion, and abundant fruitfulness. From the leadership of Moses to Joshua, David to Solomon, Jesus to his disciples and Paul to Timothy, we witness a divine orchestration of a trans-generational vision, carried out by ordinary yet committed individuals. Jack and Maratwa Tsoai wholeheartedly accepted their pioneering mission, fully aware that the path ahead would be fraught with challenges, as they have always sought to push the boundaries of conventionality, break new ground, and pioneer initiatives even when the odds seemed insurmountable. On February 2, 2014, they planted another church in Vereeniging, south of Johannesburg, which they led until July 26, 2015, when they handed its leadership over to William and Tshidi Mahlabegwane. Since that pivotal moment, Jack has travelled extensively throughout South Africa, Africa and beyond, collaborating with local churches through this translocal initiative, dedicated to planting new churches and conducting leadership seminars.

On April 13, 2019, while engaged in his ministry elsewhere, Jack received a request to come and assist with the transition of a church known as Cosmo Christian Centre, located in the Randburg area of the city of Johannesburg. By January 2020, Jack was officially asked to assume the leadership of the church, which was eventually renamed as LifePoint Church. This leadership change played a crucial role in fostering unity within the congregation and allowed for continued collaboration with other churches that share similar visions and values, both on a local and global scale.

Our Vision

Our vision is centered on the last words of Jesus. John 20:21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” In summary: “GO TELL THE WORLD ABOUT ME!”
“And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.” Acts 1:8

“We are therefore a community of people who stand firm in the truth over time against raging currents of opposition and are willing to Gather people, Grow people and let the people GO to present a living proof of a loving God to a watching world” Clearly for us, obedience in the GOING, is our first expression of heartfelt gratitude and worship to Jesus, our Savio
